J&K's Covid tally crosses 26,000, toll rises to 498

Srinagar, Aug 12 (IANS) A total of 482 people tested positive for coronavirus in J&K on Wednesday, taking the Union Territory's tally to 26,413, while the death toll rose to 498 with eight more succumbing to the disease.A statement by the Information and Public Relations Department said that of the new cases, 106 were from the Jammu division and 376 from the Kashmir division.A total of 544 patients were discharged after complete recovery, taking the number of cured to 18,523.J&K's active cases now number 7,392, out of which 1,822 are from the Jammu division and 5,570 from the Kashmir division.
