TN corona count: Cured patients exceed new infections

Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS) As many as 6,008 Covid-19 patients were cured and discharged from various hospitals in Tamil Nadu taking the total tally of cured patients to 368,141 on Monday, said the state Health Department.A total of 5,956 persons tested positive for coronavirus over the past 24-hours taking the total tally to 428,041.The state recorded the death of 91 Covid-19 patients taking the total tally till date to 7,322.The total number of active Covid-19 cases factoring cured persons and the dead stands at 52,578 persons.The state capital Chennai continued to head the Covid-19 infection table with 1,150 persons testing positive for the virus and the total tally stands at 135,597.The number of infected children in the state in the age group 0-12 went up to 19,748.
