TN reports 5,395 more corona cases

Chennai, Oct 5 (IANS) As many as 5,395 more persons tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, taking its total tally to 625,391.The Covid-19 patients cured and discharged from various hospitals went up by 5,572 to 569,664, a Health Department statement said on Monday. With 62 more Covid-19 patients dying, Tamil Nadu's death toll went up to 9,846. Taking into account the cured and dead patients, the active cases now total 45,881.The number of infected children in the state in the age group 0-12 went up to 24,328.State capital Chennai continued to head the Covid-19 infection table with 1,367 more cases, with total tally at 174,143.
