4,295 more test corona positive in TN

Chennai, Oct 17 (IANS) As many as 4,295 more persons tested positive for coronavirus in Tamil Nadu over the past 24 hours, taking its total tally to 683,486, the Health Department said on Saturday.The total recoveries in the state went up by 5,005 to 632,708. The number of active cases -- taking into account the cured and the dead -- now stands at 40,192.The death of 57 more Covid-19 patients took the state's death toll to 10,586.The number of infected children in the state in the age group 0-12 went up to 2,055.State capital Chennai continued to head the Covid-19 infection table with 1,132 new cases, with its total tally 188,944 now.
