Himachal CM, Nadda launch AMRIT pharmacy

Shimla Aug 21 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda on Monday jointly inaugurated the Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment (AMRIT) pharmacy shop here that will provide medicines at 70 to 90 percent subsidy.



They also laid the foundation stone of super specialty block of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) complex to be constructed at Chamyana near here.

This will be the second campus of the IGMCH to be developed over 20 hectares at a cost of Rs 250 crore under 80:20 sharing by the central and state governments.

They also laid the foundation stone of Tertiary Care Cancer Centre of the IGMCH here.

To provide world-class facility to cancer patients the centre would now be known as Tertiary Care Cancer Centre and run under the strengthening of tertiary cancer care centre scheme an official statement said.
