Guwahati: The city based Sun Valley Hospital conducted the lat weekly evening OPD clinic at Guwahati Press Club (GPC) on 7 October, where Dr Rupam Choudhury and Dr Tapan Sharma offered free consultations to over 25 participants. Staff nurses Limugha Sumi & Lily Kom, health workers Hitesh Choudhury & Upen Kakoti from the hospital assisted in conducting the camp, where the participants got their weight, blood sugar & pressure checked in the camp.
Organized under the ‘Evening with a Doctor’ program for the benefit of press club members along with their dependants, the camp also graced by the Sun Valley hospital’s managing director Abhoy Chandra Hazarika and its labour officer Kripa C. Barman.
The next Saturday camp on 14 October 2017 will be attended by Dr Siben Dutta from Assam’s pioneer healthcare institution Down Town Hospital. The practicing physician will offer free consultations to the participants from 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm at the press club premises. The participants will also get the opportunity to check their blood sugar & pressure in the camp. Till date, practicing doctors from Apollo Chennai Hospital, SIMS Hospital Chennai, Manipal Bangalore Hospital, Fortis Hospital
Bangalore, Medanta-the Medicity Hospital, GNRC Hospitals, Dispur Hospital, Hayat Hospital, Ayursundra Hospital, Nemcare Hospital, Sight First Eye-Clinic etc have attended the camps.
Even though the camps are primarily organised for the benefit of press club members along with their dependants, any journalist of the region with their family members may take the advantage of the Saturday clinics, said a statement issued by the GPC adding that similar. - Window To News
