Polling on for AMU students union

Aligarh Dec 11 (IANS) Students voted on Monday to elect new student unions at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and the Women s College here officials said.
Results from the voting which began at 9 a.m. and will end at 5 p.m. are likely to be announced by midnight. A total of 18 200 students are eligible to vote in AMU.
Another 2 789 girls can exercise their franchise at the Women s college.
The main contenders in the AMU are former Uttar Pradesh minister and BJP legislator Thakur Dalveer Singh s grandson Ajay Singh besides Abu Baqar and Maqsoor Ahmad Usmani.
