Masked men kill teacher in Afghanistan

Kabul July 21 (IANS) A teacher was shot dead by two masked gunmen in Afghanistan s Nangarhar province the latest in a string of targeted killing in the militancy-hit country an official said on Friday.
"Sahab-ul-Haq was shot dead in a mosque in Chaparhar district on Thursday night when he was offering night prayers " Xinhua news agency quoted the official as saying.
The 50-year-old was serving in a girl high school in Nangarhar 120 km east of Kabul for years a statement said.
People considered to be supporting the government religious leaders tribal elders and persons involved in peace and reconciliation efforts have came under attack in the past years.
