Indian weightlifter Gururaja made a great start for India as he won the men’s 56 kg silver, first medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in. In other move at CWG 2018 Indian badminton team also defeated Sri Lanka in the opening pool match. In other event of CWG, Indian women’s hockey team lost their match to Wales.

Gururaja finisdhed game in second place, Izahar Ahmad of Malaysia grabbed the gold medal by lifting a total weight of 261kg.
