Telecom revolution- Good time that school education take benefit from it.

April 18 (WTN) - Telecom revolution has changed the life we live. Apple gave button less smart phones all throughout the globe with high RAM and excellent processor speed. India too witnessed growth in telecom by leaps and bounds. There were 1,019.5 million active connections in the month of May 2017 according to TRAI. Telecom connectivity has reached every nook and corner of India, including remote rural areas.
Now, Reliance Jio is planning to bring laptops equipped with Jio SIM for connectivity. The laptop is likely to run on Windows or Chrome OS given all its apps support Android and iOS. This would be another step further in telecom industry, as such laptops with SIM would be easy to carry and be connected without any external WiFi connection. Very soon other companies too will come up with similar devices. Although WiFi dongles were earlier available few years back but connectivity was poor and cost of dongle too high.
In a country like India where wired connectivity is bad and availability of good Wi-Fi poor, a laptop with dedicated 4G SIM card inside it can be useful to many users.
If at all, the school education system adopts to shift from books and copies to certain extent and adopt modern ways of digital education, SIM based laptop shall be the harbinger of the change. It shall reduce the burden of school bags. Class notes and study material can be easily given to the students on-line and learning can be more purposeful. As it is, many schools have adopted smart classes for teaching. They can move a step further to introduce such laptops for students.
Although, the need and importance of books, copies and written communication can never be neglected, but it’s time that modern education adds technology for better pedagogy.
