Akshay Rangshahi: ‘Ishq Junoon is more than a threesome love story’
By Mehvish Kidwai Akshay Rangshahi, who will be making his acting debut with Ishq Junoon, in his interview talks about extensive preparations he has put in for the film. We chat with the effervescent actor about his journey and struggle in Bollywood so far. Excerpts from the interview: Q Set to break a path in the adult film genre, Ishq Junoon is a subjective movie based on extraordinary concept of threesome that is a revolutionary theme in the love making arena among the youth of today. What’s your take on it? Well truly speaking, Ishq Junoon is much more than a threesome love story, not an extra ordinary but the concept is undoubtedly rare to have a film on. Talking about the youth of today, they are far mature in terms of expressing themselves and their experiences. They all are well aware of facets of relationships whether friendship or love affair. What I believe is, this movie will definitely prove itself in the field of entertainment and will add to the maturity of the audience of all age groups. Perhaps it could also bridge the gap between thought and understanding of youth and veterans as well. I would just say that the era we are living is of expressing oneself so why not a little about threesome love and emotions. Q I suppose, this is your very first step in the film industry. How was your experience? How did you get the movie? It would be great if you could share your experience with our readers? Officially yes, but my first step towards the industry was when I walked back from the abhinayshri talkies in Indore after watching ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’, at that moment my journey started with the name called Hritik Roshan which I will let you know after a decade when I will be on that position. Jokes apart my journey to this very first destination, Ishq Junoon is quiet an emotional story. I believe the journey would not have been possible without my family as they are the only ones who have supported me in my bad times. In my initial days, I went door to door for work and got rejected many a times. Sometimes I was rejected just because I am not the face that fits perfect for audience but after facing all the rejections from past three long years, I met Anuj Sharma, the producer of the film Ishq Junoon through my uncle and then he suggested me to assist him in his production and learned technical things there. After a year working with him, I finally got the chance to show my acting skills and got auditioned. Everyone in the jury liked my performance and that’s how I begin the journey from ‘Not fit to fit’. The journey itself is a destination to me.
Q What I know is in the movie you are playing a role of Veer who is the best friend of Raj and somehow falls in love with your best friend’s girlfriend Pakhi. Could you elaborate more about your role in the film? Well a triangle is not possible without the third point. Yes veer is one of the point in that triangle and I am playing it. Well further elaboration will spoil the taste of the surprise recipe; here we are serving you a blend of love, friendship, lust, betrayal, jealousy and vengeance in the form of a movie. Q All three of you are new comers and are appearing on screen for the very first time. How easy or difficult was it to maintain the chemistry between you all and were you not camera shy since all the scenes are very expressive and polished and it never gave audience a thought even once that you are appearing on big screen for the first time? Yes we all were new comers though me being the newest. Facing camera and maintaining chemistry with the co stars was very difficult in the starting but after giving the first shot things totally changed. The appreciation I got from my director and the unconditional support of the crew members paves me the way to my comfort zone which even I was not aware of. Working with such beautiful people made me totally comfortable doing all the polished and expressive scenes you are talking about. Q The trailer is awesome and steamy too and you are breaking all the stereotypes in the movie like being a son of DSP of Indore and doing such bold and sexy scenes. Don’t you think somehow it will harm your dad’s reputation or they are ok with it?
My school of thought is very clear here. After all what really matters is your understanding of reel life and the real one. What you do in reel life is not something you might be doing in your real life and vice-versa. As an actor whatever the script demands you have to perform accordingly. My screen performance can never affect the reputation of my dad. If you give me liberty I would say no actor’s performance can affect their familys reputation since reel life is reel life. So I am the "reel" hero for my dad and he will always be the "real" hero to me and my family. Q Lastly, I would like to know your expectations from the movie and also would like to know about your future projects? Being my debut movie what matters is not my expectations but the expectations of the audience. I have given all my hard work and being an actor now I expect that "The movie should get what it deserves" Being a son I expect it to make my father and whole family proud. Being a bollywoodian I expect it to be an entertaining one.-WTN [audio mp3="http://www.windowtonews.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/10/AUD-20161021-WA0005.mp3"][/audio]
