Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has been demanding for a long time to bring petrol and diesel into GST. In the coming days, there are assembly elections in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, so the Central Government will not want to take any risk. It is believed that if petrol and diesel will be under GST, then prices of petrol and diesel can be reduced.

Cess can be imposed on sugar.
It is believed that the government can impose cess on sugar. If this happens then sugar can be expensive. A decision can be taken even on cess of sugar in the May, 4 GST Council meeting. It is believed that Rs 19,780 crores are due left to pay sugarcane farmers and to pay this due, government can impose cess on sugar. After imposing cess on sugar, a fund will be generated by this money and sugarcane farmers due will be paid by this fund. If this happens so one to one and a half rupees per kg cess can be applied on sugar.
