Big decision on SIM card
MAY 02(WTN) - There is good news for millions of mobile customers in India. Now you will be able to buy SIM card without even a Aadhar card. Government has issued instructions to telecom operators in this regard that they can demad another option as identity card for SIM card. These I-cards include driving licenses, passports, voter card etc. The government has asked the mobile companies to implement these orders immediately.

Indeed, there is a lot of doubt about Aadhar card in India. So far the rules were going on that no SIM card will be issued without a Aadhar card. On this, the Supreme Court clarified that the Aadhar card compulsory for buying a SIM card is not necessary. After this, the government issued instructions to the telecom companies saying that those who do not have Aadhar cards should not be denied the SIM card.
No Aadhar, NO SIM card!
Mobile companies were not releasing SIM cards without Aadhar card because the telecom department gave the order to make the Aadhar essential. According to the telecom department, this order was issued after the order came in the Supreme Court's Lokpani Foundation case.

But recently, the Supreme Court has said that there was no any such order given by iyself, due to which SIM card could not be given without Aadhar. Many people in the country had to face difficulties in getting the SIM card due to lack of Aadhaar card.
Not only this, NRIs and foreigners were also facing problems in getting SIM cards. Therefore, after the guidelines of the Supreme Court, the Central Government has instructed the telecom companies that the Aadhaar card is no longer needed for the SIM card.
