Gift to senior citizens from Modi government.

MAY 03(WTN) - The Modi government has given a benefit to the senior citizens of the country. The Modi government has extended the facility to senior citizens of the country by 2020. Not only this, the limit of investment limit in the Prime Minister  “VAY VANDANA YOJNA”  has also been doubled to Rs 15 lakh. Under the Prime Minister Vay Vandana Yojana, in the Cabinet meeting, the approval for enhancing the investment limit for senior citizens from Rs 7.5 lakh to 15 lakh rupees has been approved. This will allow senior citizens of the country to receive up to 10,000 pensions per month. The last date of membership under this scheme has been increased from March 4, 2018 to 31 March, 2020.

Not only this, for promoting social security for senior citizens, increasing the investment limit of Rs 7.5 lakh per family in the current scheme, the revised PMVVY has been reduced to Rs.15 lakh per senior citizen. In this way the Central Government has made available comprehensive social security coverage to senior citizens.

Let you know that till March 2018, 2.23 lakh senior citizens are receiving benefits under PMVVY. In addition to 3.11 lakh senior citizens getting benefitted in the previous scheme of senior pension insurance scheme 2014. This scheme is being run in collaboration with Life Insurance Corporation, the country's largest insurance company. The benefit of this scheme is to the citizens of 60 years and above. Not only this, if the returns in the LIC scheme come low, the government will fulfill the difference between the returns.
