MAY 22(WTN) - If you have traveled in the plane and you may have experienced such either your flight may have been delayed or cancelled. In such a situation the passengers have to face a lot of difficulties. Keeping in view the hassle of the passengers, the central government has announced big relief for travelers that if flight being delayed (some conditions) so the airline company has to pay compensation to the passengers. Minister of state for civil aviation Jayant Sinha said in a press conference that airline companies have to pay compensation in some form to the passengers.
Union minister Jayant Sinha said, "If the flight gets canceled and there is an airline fault in it, the passengers will be compensated or the ticket money will be returned. At the same time if the flight delays then the passengers will be compensated separately. Jayant Sinha further said, "The rights of the passengers will increase. The airline's arbitrariness in cancellation charges will be ended. After flight being delayed more than four hours then if passengers cancel the tickets, so the passengers will be entitled to get full rent back. The airline has to compensate for the failure of the flight due to their mistake. Though this is a draft and everyone will be consulted on this draft."
Due to delay in flights and their cancellation, the demand for compensation for the passengers has been raised for a long time. After complaining of the passengers, the central government has prepared a draft for which the opinion of all will be followed, after which it will be implemented. But if the rule of compensation is applicable then there may be a lot of control in the arbitrariness of the airline company.
According to the DGCA report, in January 2018, the percentage of flight cancellation was 1.26, in February it was 0.89 percent, in March it was 1.38 percent and in April it was 0.64 percent. Weather is the reason for the flight cancellation in winter. But its percentage is also around 40. Due to the inaccuracy of the airline, there are many flights being delayed, due to which the passengers have to face a lot of trouble. It is believed that this draft of the central government will put pressure on the airlines companies to provide the right services.
