Will Kumaraswamy be the CM of Karnataka for five years?
MAY 25(WTN) - Is everything going on well between Congress and JDS coalition in Karnataka? We are saying that because before getting the vote of confidence of the Kumaraswamy government, the deputy chief minister of Karnataka and senior Congress leader G.Parameshwar’s statement is showing signs of ‘cracks in the coalition. Congress leader G. Parmeshwar has given a big statement on the chief minister of Karnataka for five years. G.Parmeshwar said in a statement that would Kumaraswamy be the chief minister of Karnataka for five years? or in coming five years Congress would also have its own chief minister; the matter is yet to be discussed in the coalition.
This statement of G.Parmeshwar has many meanings. Now, Kumaraswamy did not even get the vote of confidence of his government in the assembly, and statements from the Congress have begun to come, which can mean that everything is not right in the coalition right now. G.Parmeshwar’s statement can be judged as what is going on in the mind of the Congress. Congress has given support to JDS to keep BJP away to form government in Karnataka, but even after being largest party in the coalition, the leaders of the Congress could not be the chief minister.
But on the other hand, before the swearing-in as chief minister, H.D.Kumaraswamy had made clear that his alliance with Congress would not work on the formula for the 30-30 month government, if the alliance continues for five years, then he would be the chief minister. It is clear from Kumaraswamy's statement that he is not ready to give chief minister post to Congress. At the same time, it is clear from the statement of G.Parmeshwar that at present H.D.Kumaraswamy is the chief minister, but this is going to be decided whether he would be chief minister for five years or not. It is clear from G.Parmeshwar's statement that the Congress can demand chief minister post in future as its being largest party in the coalition.
The big question is whether the Congress and JDS coalition will be able to conjointly for five full years. If yes for five years, then would Kumaraswamy be chief minister for five years. But by G.Parmeshwar’s statement it seems that the age of Congress and JDS coalition is not much. If the Congress is a big party in the coalition, it is natural that congress leaders are ‘dreaming’ to be the chief minister in Karnataka. It is a matter of future that JDS will have ‘wish’ to give the chief minister post to Congress, but before that, there may be a antagonism between the two parties in the ministers' portfolio.
