Kumaraswamy is in ‘under pressure’ of Congress.

Waiving of agricultural loan is a challenge for Kumaraswamy.

MAY 28(WTN) - The ‘political drama’ of Karnataka is not over yet. JDS leader Kumaraswamy has become the chief minister of Karnataka with the support of Congress. But there is still the ‘differences’ between the two parties for the portfolio. It is believed that there is a ‘dispute’ in both the Congress and JDS parties to take up the important ministry. Meanwhile, Karnataka chief minister Kumaraswamy has cleared that he has become Karnataka's chief minister by the ‘grace’ of Congress and there is ‘no pressure’ on him by the public.

Karnataka's newly elected chief minister H.D.Kumaraswamy has said that his party JDS had demanded full mandate from the people of Karnataka in the assembly election, but the people of Karnataka did not give the full majority to JDS, so he has become chief minister of Karnataka by the ‘grace’ of Congress today. H.D.Kumaraswamy has clearly said to the public of Karnataka that he is not ‘under their pressure’. This makes it clear that if the coalition government runs between Congress and JDS in Karnataka for five years, then H.D.Kumaraswamy will be in the ‘under pressure’ of the Congress. Then it is believed that Congress will be able to implement its ‘agenda’ correctly.

But H.D.Kumaraswamy made it clear that waiving of agricultural loan was his first priority. Because his party promised this during the election campaign. Kumaraswamy looked so convincing for waiving of agricultural loan that he had said that if he would fail for waiving of agricultural loan, he would give resignation. JDS had promised in its manifesto that if they come in power so there would be waiving of agricultural loan, including loans taken from public sector and cooperative banks, within 24 hours.

If Kumaraswamy fails in loan waiving, would he resign or not this is a big question, but Kumaraswamy made it clear that the Congress support has ‘a lot of pressure on him’. JDS had won 37 seats in Karnataka assembly election and was at number three. The BJP had won 104 seats and the Congress won 78 seats. In order to keep the BJP away from power, Congress supported JDS.

The Congress might have been feeling that even after being a big party of the coalition, there is no it’s chief minister. In such a situation, Congress can implement its ‘agenda’ in support of JDS. Now what is the Congress's stand on waiving of agricultural loan? According to the experts, waiving of agricultural loan will burden the treasury of the state government. At present, there is NDA Government in the center and in such a situation, it is interesting to see how Kumaraswamy can handle loan waiving and Congress demands during his chief ministership.
