MAY 29(WTN) - Petrol and diesel prices have consecutively increased today on the 16th day. In India, the prices of petrol and diesel being reviewed every day, whether prices may be increased or decreased. But the prices of petrol and diesel have been increasing for the last 16 days. During the Karnataka elections, there was ‘no change’ in prices of petrol and diesel for several days. But the prices of petrol and diesel are increasing steadily since the Karnataka election results.

There has been an increase in the price of petrol in the country again today. Petrol in Delhi is priced at Rs 78, 43 paise per liter, in Kolkata, Rs 81, 06 paise per liter, in Mumbai, Rs 86, 24 paise and 81 rupees in 43 paise per liter In Delhi, diesel is selling 69 paise 31 paise per liter in Kolkata, 71 rupees 86 paise per liter in Kolkata, 73 rupees 79 paise per liter in Mumbai and 73 rupees 18 paise per liter in Chennai.

It is said that the prices of petrol and diesel is increasing in the country due to the rise in crude oil prices and rupees being weak against the dollar in the international market. But for the past few days, crude oil prices have dropped by four to five dollars per barrel, while the rupee fell at one time to 68.32 but now the rupee has been recovered compared to dollar and today morning the rupee is 67.73 per dollar. As crude oil has also been cheaper and the dollar has also been stronger than why the price of petrol and diesel being increased day by day.

Meanwhile, the cost of transportation being increased due to hike in diesel price, so in result the price of fruits and vegetables has been raised. The direct impact of diesel falls on transport. Diesel is getting expensive every day for the past several days so in impact season's vegetables are also getting expensive. It is believed that if diesel prices continue to rise like this, then inflation may also increase.
