VHP invites Raghuram Rajan for speech in a program.
MAY 30(WTN) - As you know, Pranab Mukherjee, former President and veteran Congress leader, has been invited by the RSS in its program at its headquarters in Nagpur for a speech. There is a continuation of discussion all over the country on this invitation; on the other hand, the Vishva Hindu Parishad has invited former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan to address a program in Chicago.
The Vishva Hindu Parishad has sent an invitation to former Reserve Bank Governor Raghuram Rajan to join the Vishwa Hindu Congress to be held in Chicago. This program will be held in the US city of Chicago in September this year, after 125 years of the Swami Vivekananda’s world famous speech in Chicago. Other prominent personalities invited in this program include RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Tibetan dharmaguru Dalai Lama, UP's CM Yogi Adityanath, Hollywood star Richard Gere and US Congressman Tulsi Gabbard.
Whether Raghuram Rajan will come in the VHP program or not, it is not clear now. But the relationship between Raghuram Rajan and the VHP’s ‘maternal institute’ RSS was not normal. When Raghuram Rajan was the Governor of the Reserve Bank, RSS used to criticize his policies. Since his tenure being ended in September, 2016 as the Governor of RBI, Raghuram Rajan is in Chicago and is teaching there. Some time back, he had admitted that he wanted to serve the Reserve Bank for another term, but the government did not give him a chance.
Inviting Raghuram Rajan by the Hindu organization after Pranab Mukherjee is a positive step in itself. ‘Conceptual differences’ are ‘ok’, but instead of enmity, they should continue to exchanges ideas with one another, ending the inertia. A positive message will go through Pranab Mukherjee's RSS program that the Sangh Parivar also likes to listen to other ideologies and offers them respect. If Raghuram Rajan goes to the VHP's program, then there will be a good message too.
