US ambassador Kenneth I. Juster condemns Shujaat Bukhari’s murder
JUNE 15 (WTN) - The condemnation of the murder of editor of ‘Rising Kashmir’, Shujaat Bukhari is getting all around. This cowardly act has been condemned worldwide. The American mission in India has also condemned it in stringent words. For your information, let you know that Shujaat Bukhari, editor of ‘Rising Kashmir’, was shot dead by militants on Thursday.
US ambassador to India Kenneth I. Juster condemned the terrorist attack and said that the Indian mission in India condemns the murder of the editor of 'Rising Kashmir'. He also expressed his condolences with the family of two security personnel along with Bukhari, who was present with him during the incident. The terrorists had even murdered him.
Juster has written on Twitter, "The U.S. Mission in India strongly condemns the killing of Shujaat Bukhari, a highly-respected journalist and the Editor-in-Chief of RisingKashmir, and security officers Hamid Chaudhary and Mumtaz Awan. We offer our sincere condolences to their family, friends, and colleagues.”
At the same time, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, leader of the moderate group of Hurriyat Conference associated with separatist movements in Kashmir, also condemned the killing of Bukhari and termed it as 'inexcusable crime'. The Editors Guild of India condemned it as a 'serious attack on the freedom of the press and democratic voice'.
