BSP looks ‘confident’ in Madhya Pradesh
JUNE 18 (WTN) - Before the Lok Sabha election, the all eyes are on in the assembly election of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. It is believed that before the Lok Sabha election, all political parties would like to try their popularity among the public. As you know, the BSP and SP contested together in some by-elections in UP and the Congress had also supported it, after which the BJP had to face defeat in Gorakhpur, Phulpur and Kairana Lok Sabha by-elections. After which it was believed that this unity of the opposition would continue even to defeat the BJP.
But the BSP has given a shock to the unity of the opposition against the BJP in Madhya Pradesh. The BSP has refused to ‘cooperate’ with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh assembly election. BSP will contest its candidates on all the 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh. This move of the BSP is not less than a shock to the Congress. Far from the power of Madhya Pradesh for 15 consecutive years, the Congress hopes that the BSP is essential to keep BJP's opposition votes united.
According to Madhya Pradesh BSP president Narmada Prasad Ahirwar, "I have come to know from the media that the Congress leaders are saying that the Congress is in talks for a coalition with the BSP for the upcoming assembly election. I want to make it clear that there is no talk of us at the state level regarding this alliance and as far as I know it is not happening at the central level.” Not only that, he said, "I have not received any guidance from the central leadership about the alliance with Congress." Ahirwar said, "We will contest in all the 230 assembly seats in the state. This is our situation today.” For your information, let you know that BSP won 4 seats having 6.29 percent vote share in 2013 assembly election in Madhya Pradesh.
At the same time, Madhya Pradesh Congress's media department head Manak Agarwal said, "We did not name any party about the alliance. Our party has just said that Congress will try to combine the same thinking parties in Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. We never took BSP name.”
The BSP has not opened its cards for elections in Madhya Pradesh yet. It is believed that BSP can take some big decision before the election. If BSP does not combine with the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, then it is a matter of benefit for the BJP. Because after the defeat by the opposition's unified candidate in few seats in UP, it is believed that if the opposition is one, then the BJP victory way is not easy for BJP.
