US quits from UNHRC, alleging council is anti-Israel

US targets China, Cuba, Iran and Venezuela for human rights
JUNE 20 (WTN) - The United States of America, who educates the whole world about human rights, has been out of the United Nations Human Rights Council. For your information, let you know that United States has complained that there was no improvement in the Human Rights Council for a long time, and due to reason the United States threatened to get out of from the United Nations Human Rights Council. The United States has alleged that the 47-member council is anti-Israel.
US secretary of state Mike Pompey and US ambassador to the United Nations Nicky Haley announced in a joint press conference that US is now quit itself from the United Nations Human Rights Council. Nicky Halley said that the United States is going out of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Haley made several serious allegations against the United Nations Human Rights Council. Haley said that the Human Rights Council defends countries which violate human rights. Haley, giving examples of countries like China, Cuba, Iran and Venezuela, said,” there are several members of the United Nations Human Rights Council who do not respect the basic human rights of the citizens.” Haley accused that the United States was trying to improve the Council, but countries such as Russia, China, Cuba and Egypt stuck to it.
Let us know that the objective of the United Nations Human Rights Council is to monitor human rights issues in the world. It was established in place of the United Nations Human Rights Commission in 2006. As far as India is concerned, India is not yet a member, but four times India has been member of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Many human rights groups criticized UNHRC when China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Algeria and Vietnam were included in it in year 2013. For your information, let you know that the United States has been a member of the United Nations Human Rights Council for three years. US had just completed one and a half years in UNHRC. It was reported last week that the reforms in the council had not been agreed and the demands of the US were not considered. From then it was coming to the news that the US would withdraw from the United Nations Human Rights Council.
Earlier, the US had boycotted the United Nations Human Rights Council for three years during the former president George W. Bush, but during president ship of Obama in 2009, US had again joined the Council.
