‘Politics’ over international Yoga day

Is Yoga related to any political party?
JUNE 21 (WTN) – International Yoga Day is being celebrated all over the world, but due to politics in India it has also been found to be opposed. There is no official program on Yoga Day on behalf of the Mizoram State Government. On the other side, JD (U) leader Nitish Kumar, who is running the coalition government with BJP in Bihar, also kept him absent from the Yoga program.
It is believed that everything in Bihar's Janta Dal United (JDU) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) coalition government is not probably going on well. Today, when the international Yoga day program was organized in Pataliputra sports complex in Patna, Nitin Kumar's party JDU’s neither any minister nor any other activist join the Yoga day program. There were many senior BJP leaders including central minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi, and Ramkripal Yadav attended the Yoga day program.
On the non-existence of Nitish's party JDU, BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi said, “All the ministers of BJP quota were not present in the program of international Yoga day, but this does not mean that they are against Yoga. It is not necessary that all come and participate in the Yoga program.”
At the same time, JDU spokesman Rajiv Ranjan said, “Everyone is congratulated on Yoga Day. We have been practicing yoga in our own homes for years now even today.” On the question of not joining the Yoga day program by JDU, he said, “This is a ‘sadhana’ which our ancestors have also been doing. It should not be seen by connecting with BJP.”
Those who link yoga to any religion or political party should remember that Yoga is a scientific physical action. By which the one can keep body and mind healthy. Linking Yoga to Hinduism or BJP is nothing more than politics. It is not the loss of yoga but the individual's loss.
