Rahul Gandhi’s 'eye' on three states assembly elections before Lok Sabha eletion
JUNE 22 (WTN) - After facing the defeat in the assembly elections continuously, it seems that Congress has started preparations for the forthcoming assembly elections. In this order, Congress President Rahul Gandhi has appointed senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge as in charge of the Maharashtra. Kharge has been given responsibility in place of party general secretary Mohan Prakash. The screening committee has also been formed for the assembly elections in five states this year and the next year. Apart from Mallikarjun Kharge, the party has given responsibility of secretary post to Sonal Patel, Ashish Dua and Sampat Kumar in the Maharashtra Congress. J.D.Seelam and Mahendra Joshi have been appointed secretary and Shashikant Sharma as joint secretary.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi has constituted a screening committee for the assembly elections in the end of this year and for the next year, which will finalize the names of the candidates. Congress has constituted a screening committee for Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Mizoram. Former union minister Kumari Selja has been appointed the chairman of the committee of Rajasthan, Madhusudan Mistry for Madhya Pradesh and Bhubaneswar Kalita for Chhattisgarh.
Laliteswar Tripathi and Shakir have been appointed as member of the committee of Rajasthan. Similarly, Neeta D'Souza and Ajay Kumar Lalu have been appointed members of Madhya Pradesh and Rohit Chaudhary and Ashwin Kotwal for Chhattisgarh committee. VD Satishan has been appointed chairman of Odisha screening committee and Jitin Prasad and Naushad Solanki have been appointed members.While Luizinho Fleario has been appointed the chairman of the Mizoram committee.
Long ago, Congress has formed its own team for these states. It is believed that Rahul Gandhi is getting much hope from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh assembly elections. It is being said that before the Lok Sabha election, political situation will be cleared from the elections of these three states that what is the mood of the people of the country. In Rajasthan, every five years the government has been changing, Rahul Gandhi hopes that Congress can return to Rajasthan. At the same time in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the last 15 years, there is BJP government. In such a situation, the Congress expects that the benefit of the anti incumbency factor can be gained in both of these states.
