New rule for AC temperature may be introduced soon
JUNE 23 (WTN) - You must have used AC in your office or home. Gradually the use of ac is increasing in the country. It is believed that in the future, electricity consumption in India will increase rapidly. But do you know how much temperature of AC should be kept in the office or at home? Probably not, the government is introducing a rule for this. It is believed that if this rule applies, it will not only have a positive impact on your health. Rather, the consumption of electricity in the country will also be reduced.

And if this decision is implemented then it is believed that 20 billion units of electricity will be saved annually throughout the country. In a bid to boost energy efficiency in the area of air condition (AC), power and new and renewable energy minister R.K.Singh said, "High temperature in air conditioner reduces power consumption by 6 percent."
The government has opinion that the normal temperature level of AC should be decided. In the meeting with the major companies and their organizations, which are producing air conditioners, power minister R.K. Singh said, "The normal temperature of the body is 36 to 37 degree Celsius but the temperature in commercial establishments, hotels and offices is 18 to 21 degrees normally. It is not only troublesome but also really unhealthy.” Not only that, power minister R.K. Singh said that it is a waste of energy. Therefore, in some countries like Japan, rules have been followed to keep temperature at 28 degree Celsius; similar rules should be followed in India as well.
According to information, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), which is under the power ministry, has done a study in this case and recommended to set the temperature in the air conditioner 24 degree Celsius. Beginning in this direction, consultation will be issued to all commercial establishments and manufacturers, including airports, hotels, and shopping malls.
In this meeting, manufacturers were suggested to set the temperature of 24 degree Celsius in air condition. At the same time, it has been labeled and asked to the customers how much better it is to determine the amount of temperature from their money savings and better health perspective. It is believed that this temperature of AC will be within 24 to 26 degree Celsius. Surveys will be conducted to know the opinions of people after four to six months awareness campaign. After that the Ministry will consider it mandatory. It is believed that if all customers adopt it, then about 20 billion units will be saved in a year.
If this plan applies, then this will not only have a positive effect on the health of the people, but also the billions of units will be saved. It is believed that due to AC the total load in the country will be 200,000 MW by 2030. This can grow even further. Because, according to the information, only 6 percent of households in the country are getting access to AC. This is hoped that this new rule of government will not be opposed and people of India will understand its importance.
