Electric format of Aadhaar card and driving license to be valid during rail journey
JULY 07 (WTN) - When you travel in the train on the reserved ticket, you have to show any document as an 'identity proof'. For this, you have to keep your ‘identity card’, such as Aadhaar card or a driving license, with you. But Indian Railways has now approved the acceptance of the electric format of Aadhaar card and driving license, based in Digi locker, as 'identity proof', and this ‘electric format identity proof' will be acceptable with 'certain conditions'.
According to the information, Indian Railways has issued a circular to the principal chief commercial manager of all the zones, which says that, the 'electric format' of both the Aadhaar card and driving license, based in the Digi Locker, with 'certain conditions' will be accepted as 'Identity proof’.
That is, if the passenger shows the Aadhaar card or driving license in his Digi Locker account, then it will be considered as 'authorized identity proof'. But for your information, let you know that if your document is in 'Uploaded Section' then it will be 'not valid'. 'Uploaded Section' means that the user has uploaded documents himself.
