Game of ‘numbers’ in Lok Sabha!

Know the ‘political situation’ before the no-confidence motion against Modi government

JULY 19 (WTN) – Tomorrow, in the Lok Sabha, there is a discussion and voting on 'no-confidence motion' against the Modi government. The BJP has 'belief' that the no-confidence motion, against the Modi government, will be 'failure'. But you want to know, what is the parties’ position in the Lok Sabha? So let you know.

The number of 'elected MPs' in the Lok Sabha is 543. At present, ten seats are 'vacant', i.e. the number of total MPs including the Lok Sabha speaker is 533. To prove the majority, BJP needs '267' MPs.  At present, the number of BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha including speaker is 274. That is, the BJP has more than seven MPs to the majority.

Now talk about the BJP's allies, Shiv Sena has 18 MPs, Ramvilas Paswan's party LJSP has 6 MPs, Akali Dal has 4 MPs, RLSP has 3 MPs, JDU has 2 MPs, Apna Dal has 2 MPs and there are 6 other MPs. In this way, the total number of MPs including BJP and its allies are 315. If the number of other smaller parties is counted, then it is clear that the BJP has no need to 'worry' about the no-confidence motion.

If Shatrughan Sinha, Kirti Azad and Savitri Bai Phule, who are angry with the party, make a rebellious attitude during the no-confidence motion, but also in this situation the BJP itself has 'enough' MPs.

According to information from the media, Sonia Gandhi has said that there are ‘adequate numbers' for the no-confidence motion. Now let’s have a look at the number of MPs of opposition parties.

In Lok Sabha, Congress has 48 MPs, TDP, which has brought no confidence motion, has 16, JDS has 1, NCP has 7, RJD has 4, TMC has 34, CPI (M) has 9, SP has 7, Aam Aadmi Party has  4, TRS has 11, YSR Congress has 4 and AIUDF has 3 MPs. At the same time, even if some other small parties MPs and independent MPs included, the opposition does not have enough MPs to 'drop' Modi government.

At the same time, parties that have 'equal distance' from BJP and Congress, AIADMK has 37 MPs and BJD has 20 MPs. It is believed that both these parties will not vote in the opposition of the BJP and their MPs will be ‘absent’ during the voting, if this happens then the figure of the majority will be reduced so that there is no problem for BJP.
