JULY 27 (WTN) - As you know, the government has extended the date for filing income tax returns. But let us tell you for information that this date has not been extended for everyone, but extended only for some categories.
For the assessment year 2018-19, the government has extended the income tax return filing date for some categories 31 August 2018 instead of 31 July 2018. If you are a personal taxpayer, and do not come under the mandatory audit rules then you can fill the ITR by 31 August 2018. Taxpayers coming under the 'compulsory audit' are to be paid by July 31, 2018 'and the date for them has not been increased further.
Extending the date of filing the income tax return will facilitate the individual, salaried and small businessmen who are not in the compulsion of audit. Among all this, Piyush Goyal, who is looking at the charge of the Finance Ministry, has tweeted, “The citizens should pay their taxes till the date of extension.
