Pilot project at New Delhi, Nagpur, Bhopal, Itarsi and Jhansi station
AUG 02 (WTN) - If the favorite food is also available on the train trip, then the fun of it gets doubled. Those travelers who do not like food of pantry, they prefer to order from outside. But if you will now order food from outside the train at Bhopal railway station after New Delhi, Nagpur, then you will have to pay Rs 15 for the delivery charge along with the cost of food and drink items.
No such charge is taken from the passengers so far. This system will be introduced at Bhopal station from next week after New Delhi and Nagpur railway stations. According to the information, the railway has taken this step so that illegal food delivery can be stopped by food providers, and travelers can get hot and fresh food.
Railways have selected New Delhi, Nagpur, Bhopal, Itarsi and Jhansi stations as a pilot project. Now as soon as a traveler orders food from authorized restaurant or hotel with IRCTC, it will be informed to the company which is responsible for food delivery. The company's employee will come to the station with orders and there will be a delivery team who will deliver food to the concerned traveler. The passenger will have to pay 15 rupees along with the cost of eating and drinking. Railways argue that this will benefit both passengers and hotel-restaurant operators as well.
