GST refund may be easy, important meeting of GST council to be held on tomorrow

Many demands of small businessmen, waiting for concrete and big decisions
AUG 03 (WTN) - The next meeting of the GST council is scheduled to be held on 4th August i.e. tomorrow. It is believed that in this meeting, especially the issues of small businessmen will be discussed. For your information, let you know this is the 29th meeting of GST council.
Authorities, related to indirect taxes, have been asked to make a list of what the businessmen are facing problems for this meeting. Looking at the charge of the finance minister, Piyush Goyal will chair the meeting of the GST council for the second time.
According to the information, many businessmen are facing problems in GST refund. These traders demand that the refund process should be made easy. They say that the business is being affected by delaying refund.
There is another demand of businessmen that the facility of GST registration should be available from any place in India. Currently there is a system that a businessman can register for GST from his own state. Businessmen are demanding that if there would be single GST ID then the business will be easier. It is being said that some decisions, related to single GST ID, can be taken in the GST council meeting tomorrow.
For your information, let you know that the reverse charge mechanism has been extended for a year now. Under this, if a businessman, who is registered in GST, has purchased goods from a non-registered businessman, then registered businessman will have the responsibility of filling the tax. Businessmen say that they are facing problems in this rule. For your information, let you know that reverse charge mechanism has been extended till 30 September 2019.
As you know, GST council, in its previous meeting, had given exception to fill GST returns every month for those businessman whose turnover is up to 5 crore yearly.
