GDP based on location, whereas GNP on ownership

AUG 09 (WTN) - You have heard many times about gross domestic product (GDP), and gross national product i.e. GNP. But, do you know what the difference between these two is? After all how GDP and GNP are calculated? If you do not know, then we tell you what are the differences between these two.

Let's first know about GDP. Within one year, the market value of all the final goods and services within the boundaries of a nation is called Gross Domestic Product GDP.

Now know about GNP. The monetary value of the final products and services produced in the country or abroad by the residents of the country in a year is called Gross National Product or GNP.

That is, the GDP is Gross Domestic Product and the GNP is a Gross National Product. The GDP shows the income generated within a country, while GNP reflects the income generated by the citizens, whether it is within the country or abroad. GDP is based on location, whereas GNP is based on ownership.

Based on the circumstances, GNP may be more or less than GDP. For example, China's GDP is about $ 300 billion more than GNP. The US GNP is about $250 billion more than the GDP.
