64 percent more dividend than last year
AUG 09 (WTN) - RBI, i.e. the Reserve Bank of India, will give a dividend of 50,000 crores to the Modi government. It is being said that this move of the Reserve Bank is in line with the provisions of the Central Government's general budget. It is being said that this dividend of RBI will help the central government in maintaining the fiscal framework.
In this financial year, the RBI is paying 64 percent more dividend to the Central Government. The decision to transfer surplus of Rs 50,000 crores for the financial year ended on June 30, 2018 was decided at the meeting of the Central Board of Directors of the RBI.

In the last financial year, the RBI had given a dividend of Rs 30,659 crore to the government, which was half of the dividend given in the year 2016. The reason for the decreasing the dividend in the financial year ending in June 2017 is the cost of printing of new notes after the demonetization.
