Aug 10 (WTN) To reduce dependency on fossil fuel and increase consumption of Bio fuel in country, government is planning to supply 10% ethanol mix petrol by 2022 and 20% by 2030. On the occasion of World Bio fuel Day PM Narendra Modi said in an event at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi today.
Modi said that Government has focused on bio fuels to reduce fuel import dependence, fight climate change, and help sugarcane farmers raise their income. He also launches web portal PARIVESH, (Pro Active and Responsive facilitation by interactive and Virtuous Environment Single window Hub)
, a single window for environmental, wildlife, forest and CRZ clearances, on the occasion of WorldBiofuelDay.

PM also said that Record production of ethanol has happened in last 4 years; ethanol production has not just helped farmers but also saved Rs 4000 crore of forex for India in just 1 year. 12 modern refineries worth 10k crore are going to be established across India; refinery operations to supply chain, this will provide employment to 1.5 lakh youth. He said that present government is working to make Bio CNG from trash, enhance CNG usage in public transport and reduce dependence on CNG import.
Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said on the occasion that during the tenure of Modi Government, procurement of ethanol increased to 150 crore liters as compared to 38 crore liter in 2014.
