People's University celebrated 72nd Independence Day with gaiety and fervor.
People's University celebrated 72nd Independence Day with gaiety and fervor.
Hon'ble Suresh N Vijaywargia Chairman Peoples Group and Chancellor People's University sent independence day greetings and message for everyone. He was unable to attend program due to health reasons.
Megha Vijaywargia Trustee and Director People's Group hoisted the national flag.
Dr VK Pandya Director Academics People's Group, IH Siddique Project Director People's Group, Dr. Neeraj Upmanyu, Officiating Vice Chancellor, People's University, Dr. Harish Rao, Pro-Vice Chancellor People’s University, Head of the Institutions, Deans, faculty members, students, family and friends gathered in large number for flag hoisting.
Dr VK Pandya Director Academics People's Group while addressing the gathering said that after much toil India has achieved independence and this independence has brought many responsibilities with it. He said that it is our moral duty to protect this freedom and work for the betterment of the nation. Dr. Pandya highlighted the achievements of the People's University and informed that People's University has been awarded with a prestigious India's Quality Education Award 2018 by Corporate Council for Leadership and Awareness (CCLA) in the Progressive India Conclave, 2018 held recently at Agra; in recognition of People's University contribution in promoting research People's University has been conferred as India’s Best University for promoting Research.
Dr. Pandya said that People's University is the largest single campus university in Central India. Here the students are counseled to choose the right career and life-skill options. People's University is working on developing the ideology of start-up among youth. They are already working on all terrain bikes, making an ignition control petrol engine using biometric system, online shopping app, mobile application, herbal heating pads to get rid of body-pain, herbal Tea-bags etc. People's University Incubation Cell is committed to supporting "start up" in every possible way to help youth to become self-employed and create further employment opportunities.
Dr. Pandya informed that the People's Hospital is also providing efficient public health services 24x7. Under able guidance of Dr. A.N. Mhsake Medical Director People’s Hospital doctors from People's Hospital Dr. Bagad and his team members Girija, Krishna and Dolly are successfully contributing in the Prime Minister's Safe Maternity Campaign every month giving comprehensive and quality childbirth care to all pregnant women. People's Hospital is also Bhopal's first hospital where e-ambulance is operated for the convenience and ease of the patients. People’s Hospital also has a very hygienic fully equipped canteen operational 24x7 to cater to the daily needs of the families attending to the patients.
Dr Pandya also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Mhaske Medical Director People's Hospital who has initiated paramedical course for the prisoners of Central Jail in Bhopal thereby creating history for the jail inmates and bringing applauds for the Peoples University. This will not only help in rehabilitation of the prisoners it will also add to their skill and increase their potential to earn a livelihood. He also praised Dr. Harish Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor People's University who is invited for guest-lectures at Linckl University College of Kuala-Lumpur Malaysia from time to time. Dr.Rao has successfully conducted research in association with IIT Kharagpur, AMPPRI and IISC in a multi-institutional interdisciplinary research work funded by the Department of Bio-Technology Delhi. Dr. Jyoti Modi, renowned gynecologist of Peoples Hospital who has also been invited to deliver a lecture on ‘Mentoring program in medical college’ by the University of Chicago.
Dr. Pandya also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Neeraj Upmanyu Principal School of Pharmacy for the success of the students of the School of Pharmacy Adarsh Kumar Singh who secured 2nd rank in All India NIPER JEE 2017 Masters Examination organized by National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research and Pawan Singh Gaurav who secured 350 the rank in All India ranking.
People's Public School students have also brought glory to People's Group by winning medals at national level competitions. Drishti Tyagi Class XI won a Gold Medal in the 31st Junior State Taekwondo Championship. Tanisha Mihi Verma Class VIII stood runner-up in the State badminton tournament under-13 category. The program concluded with the colorful cultural patriotic group songs and dances presented by the students followed by sweet distribution.
