RAW operates intelligence operations outside the country
AUG 31 (WTN) - You must have heard about RAW and IB several times. But do you know the difference between these two? If you do not know, then we describe you, what are the differences between the two.
First of all we tell you the full name of these two. Full name of RAW is Research and Analysis Wing, while the full name of IB is Intelligence Bureau.
Raw was established in 1968 and it works directly under the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). Its officers directly report to the Prime Minister. Whereas IB was established in 1887. IB is considered to be one of the world's oldest intelligence agencies. IB operates directly under the Home Ministry.
Raw is India's external intelligence agency operating operations in India's neighboring countries for the Indian government. Whereas IB is India's internal intelligence agency. IB work is to operate the operation within the country.
The work of RAW has to keep an eye on the activities of neighboring countries of India. RAW executes its operation through secret agents in these countries. IB's work is to counter intelligence, identify terrorists, VIP security, control anti-country activities and gather intelligence in border areas.
RAW takes many measures to gather intelligence, such as by bribery, beating, detective, psychology and appointing of agents etc. While IB shares intelligence with other Indian intelligence agencies and the police.IB can tap anyone’s phone without any permission for spying.
RAW has its own separate service cadre; it is called Research Analysis Service (RAS). The identity of RAS officials and employees is kept secret. While in the IB, the Indian Police Service officers, employees of law enforcement agencies and army personnel work.
