The High Court declares lawyers strike unconstitutional, lawyers opposing article 34 of the advocate act

SEP 18 (WTN) - Today the lawyers are on strike in Madhya Pradesh. Yes, today thousands lawyers are on strike in protest against the directive of the Madhya Pradesh High Court. Today, all the lawyers are celebrating the protest day (Pratiwad Diwas). For your information let you know that advocates didn’t do their work in any court of Indore and Gwalior bench, including the Jabalpur main bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court, on the strike call of the steering committee of state bar council

For your information, let you know that the instructions given by the High Court to the lawyers’ strike were described by lawyers as oppressive. While hearing a PIL filed by a lawyer, the High Court had termed the strike of lawyers as unconstitutional that took place in the state any time. Apart from this, the High Court issued punitive orders for not following rules. For your information let you know that advocates are against article 34 of the advocate act, under which the right to control the lawyers has been given to the High Court.

Indeed, on the instructions of the Bar Council of India, Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council formed the steering committee. The same steering committee decided to celebrate statewide ‘Pratiwad Diwas’ on September 18.

On the other hand, the High Court's registrar Satish Chandra Rai said that the full court meeting was called on September 17, in which it was decided that if the Priwad Diwas would be celebrated without the consent of the High Court, action would be taken according to the rules.

But despite the High Court's directives and warnings, lawyers remain on strike all over the state today. After attending lawyers on strike, judicial work in all the districts of Madhya Pradesh was stalled. Today lawyers of all the district and tehsil courts have protested and stayed away from judicial work.

Lawyers argue that strike is their right, and it can’t be stopped. At the same time, the High Court says that common people have to face problems due to the strike of lawyers. By the way, the High Court is right, because of the lawyers' strike, the judicial functioning is interrupted. If lawyers want to oppose, then there are many other ways for them instead of going on strike.
