SEP 26 (WTN) – According to the Hindu panchang, from the Bhadrapad Krishna Pratipada, the Pitru Paksha is going to be started. It is believed that during the Pitru Paksha our ancestors bless us. It is believed that during this time, the ancestors present in our house in a subtle form. According to the scriptures, peace is maintained in the house by remembering and worshiping the ancestors. It is fruitful to obey some rules for the satisfaction and happiness of the ancestors during this period.

According to the scriptures, iron utensils should not be used during Pitru Paksha. If possible, feed the Brahmin on a banana leaf and try to eat on banana leaf.
Try as much as possible to not let the beggar or the guest come home without having food or water during the Pitru Paksha. It is believed that the ancestors can come to your door in any form and demand food and water. So don’t disrespect anyone in these days.
Maintain peace at home and stay in tune with during Pitru Paksha. It is believed that in these days the ancestors present in the subtle form in the house, in such a way that if they see their family members fighting, they get be hurt.
Let Brahmin be dined at afternoon during Pitru Paksha. It is believed that the afternoon time is supposed to be the time of the ancestors. In the morning and in the evening we worship God.
According to the scriptures, one must not enter into the new home during the Pitru Paksha. It is believed that the house where the ancestors die, they return to the same house during Pitru Paksha, they become depressed when they don’t get their kin. During this time you can buy a home, but housewarming is considered prohibited.
Those who worship the ancestors and perform Pind Daan during Pitru Paksha should stay away from the voracious food and abstain from meat and liquor.’
