OCT 11 (WTN) – While using the electrical equipment, you face ampere, volts and watts type words. But do you know its meaning? If you don’t know, then we describe you what the meaning of ampere, volts and watt is?
For example, if we consider electricity as water flowing in a pipe, then we will be able to understand the difference among ampere, volts and watts. The volume of water in the pipe is ampere. Water pressure is voltage, whereas watt (ampere x volts) is the power of water.
Ampere - Ampere is a unit to measure electricity. Ampere shows how fast the electric current is flowing. Ampere is written as an indication like ‘amp’. Ampere is a unit of electrical current per second rate of electric charge. It is named on the scientist Andre-Marie Ampere, who discovered electromagnetism.
Volt - Volt is the standard unit of electrodynamics measurement and a unit of energy that is equal to the difference of the electrical effect between two points of a conductor. It is written as ‘V’ sign. This unit is named in honor of the Italian physicist Volta who invented Voltaic Pile, which can be called the first chemical battery.
Watts - This is the SI derivative unit of power. It measures the rate of change of energy or conversion. A watt is equal to one joule energy per second. Electricity bill is made on the basis of the watt and accordingly, the bill has to be paid.
