A shameful incident happened in Sweden, and for this act of penalty three men have been arrested for streaming a live video of sexual assault on facebook. The live stream was uploaded in a private facebook group. Police is in investigation for the same reported. People have been asked to support investigation and those who were able to access the uploaded stream during that time are appeled to forward the footage to investigators. This incident happened on 23 January, repoted the New York Times via Swedish news Paper Expressen. It is assumed that this stream had been viewed at least by many hundreds of people.
The alleged crime took place in an apartment in Uppsala, a city about 50 miles north of the capital, Stockholm. Police was notified by many phone calls which mentioned that ““a rape in progress that was being streamed live to a closed group on Facebook”, according to Expressen. Three men aged 18, 20 and 24 were reportedly arrested on site.”. Swedish media reports that the woman aged 31, did not appear to be fully conscious."She was intoxicated. howevery they not sure how.
Face book spokeswoman Christine Chen tells “This is a hideous crime and we do not tolerate this kind of content on Face book. We take our responsibility to keep people safe on Face book very seriously. Our Community Standards regulate what kinds of content can be shared on Face book. Our teams work around the clock to review content that is being reported by users and we have systems in place to ensure that time sensitive content is dealt with quickly. The vast majority of people are using Face book Live to come together and share experiences in the moment with their friends and family. But if someone does violate our Community Standards while using Live, we want to interrupt these streams as quickly as possible when they’re reported to us. So we’ve given people a way to report violations during a live broadcast.”.-WTN
