'Chaos' on farmers' loan waiver in Madhya Pradesh, farmers and BJP says its 'cheating'

DEC 18 (WTN) - The issue of famers loan waiver in Madhya Pradesh was quite shadowy during the Assembly elections, due to the promise of farmers' loan waiver in the electoral campaigning, it is said that the Congress could formed the government in Madhya Pradesh. Immediately after becoming the Congress government and taking oath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath signed the file of the farmers’ loan waiver. Immediately after the order was issued, the copy of order circulated in the social media throughout the day. But the way the Congress government in Madhya Pradesh has waived the farmers’ loan, the farmers and the BJP have begun to question.

First of all lets’ describe you how the Congress government of the state has launched the farmer's loan waiver scheme. In the signed copy of farmers’ loan waiver by Chief Minister Kamal Nath, which is in the media, is clearly written in it; "In the form of short-term cooperative loans in nationalized and cooperative banks located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, the 'eligible' as per the 'eligibility' in the case till the March 31, 2018, farmers’ Rs 2 lakhs crop loan are waived."

But this order of the Congress government has been described by the BJP as reluctant of promise done to the farmers. The BJP says that the way Chief Minister of Congress government wants to waiver the farmers’ loan; it is against the promise done to the farmers of the state. The BJP says that the Congress promised to forgive the loan of up to two lakh rupees of 'all' farmers of the state in its manifesto. But now, when the government is formed, Chief Minister Kamal Nath is just talking about waiver of the farmers’ loan only for those farmers who are defaulter till March 31, 2018.

The Opposition is accusing the Congress government that only 5 per cent of the farmers will get the benefit of farmers’ loan waiver scheme and the benefit will be only to those farmers who were defaulter in the state by the date March 31, 2018, whereas the Congress promised to waiver of loan for the 'all farmers'. The BJP says the Congress government is doing ‘partiality’ with the farmers. New financial year starts from April 1st and according to Chief Minister Kamal Nath, the loan of farmers taking in the current financial year will not be waived. It is cheating with the farmers of the state.

The BJP is demanding that if the Congress government wants to give relief to the farmers of the state in the right way, then they should waiver the loan of all the farmers taken till September 30, 2018. About this, farmers say that till March closing, about 95 per cent farmers pay their loan so that they can get new loans in the new fiscal year. In this case, till March 31, about 95 per cent farmers of the state deposit their loan and the remaining 5 per cent farmers who can’t deposit the loan, have some problems. In such a way, the farmers’ loan waiver scheme of the Congress government is in fact a promise against farmers.

In Madhya Pradesh, BJP has alleged that the Congress government in the state has false promised with the farmers in loan waiver. Some such allegations were also imposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Congress government's farmers’ loan waiver. While addressing in a rally in the Assembly election in Jhabua, Prime Minister Modi had said, "Even in Karnataka, the Congress government had promised loan waiver, but in Karnataka it (Congress) took the vote and formed the government too. But leave the point of loan waiving and interest waiving, the warrants are being sent against farmers to put them jail ,and the warrant is that if you don’t deposit money of loan then prepare to go to jail."

The kind of allegations BJP and the farmers are putting in Madhya Pradesh, that the Congress has a promise against the farmers of the state in the name of loan waiving, they have to give the answer to the Congress. The BJP has alleged that only 5 per cent farmers will be liable for the debt waiver by March 31, 2018 and they are also the defaulters. Now what is the answer to these allegations of BJP and farmers that the Congress government gives the state? Because if the Congress' farmers’ loan waiver scheme is against the farmers, then the Congress may have to face problems in coming Lok Sabha elections.
