The country's 10 intelligence and security agencies can check the data of any computer
Opposition begins 'protest' of government's order of computer data checking, says surveillance state 'fear'!
DEC 21 (WTN) - After one of the decisions of the Modi Government, the chaos has been started, after the decision, it is said that the government is keen on ‘striking’ on the right of privacy. Indeed, since the order of the Home Ministry, questions on the right of privacy have started to arise, that is because the government has given permission to 10 intelligence and security agencies the right to 'scratch' the data of any computer under the orders of the Home Ministry.
In this order issued on 20th December, it has been said that these intelligence and security agencies can 'invigilate' the data of any computer with the intention of interception, monitoring and decryption. For your information, let you know that the Home Ministry has issued this order under Section 69 (1) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. There are all those rules come under Article 19 (2) which prohibits expression of freedom.
The 10 agencies that the Home Ministry has given these rights are in this way; Intelligence Bureau, Narcotics Control Bureau, Enforcement Directorate, Central Board of Direct Taxes, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Central Bureau of Investigation, National Investigation Agency, Cabinet Secretariat (RAW), Directorate of Signal Intelligence and Delhi Police Commissioner. In this order of the Government, it has been clearly said that there is a seven-year sentence and fine even if one are not fully cooperative with these agencies at the time of the investigation.
That is, the Central Home Ministry has given the authority to 'monitor' any computer to 10 agencies, including the IB and the Delhi Police Commissioner. It also includes computer based calls and phone data. For this, now there is no need of approval from the Union Home Ministry. For your information, let you know that prior to 'monitor' the data of any computer, there was need of approval from home ministry.
For your information, let you know that about all the activities that you do almost on computer, internet and phone are in the range of this monitoring. In case of a phone, the service provider will be asked to provide complete information about the use of the data. Well the situation is not clear about the phone calls. But the government and its agencies can easily access to your computer data and the use of social media by it as well as calls of your phones.
This order of the Central Government has been opposed. The opposition has termed it as an attack on the right of privacy. Congress, Samajwadi Party, RJD and AIMIM have opposed this decision of the government. Congress leader Anand Sharma said that the government wants to make India a surveillance state.
About this, Congress leader Anand Sharma says that it is an attack on the right of privacy. He further said, "This is a very serious matter, through this order, the BJP government wants to monitor all the people, it is an attack on fundamental and right to privacy, we oppose it."
While AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi targeted Prime Minister Modi and said, "Who knew what the meaning of ghar-ghar Modi was?"
After all, why did the Modi government take such a decision, there must have been some motive behind this. Because the Modi Government knows that if their order is against the freedom of expression then it will be challenged in the court immediately. Maybe the Modi government has taken this decision in view of the country's security. Also, if you have not done anything wrong, then why do you need to fear and the right to privacy is not important than the security of the country.
