TTE can get their ‘rights’ after years of independence

Soon TTE can get 'running staff' status

Railway constitutes committee to give status of 'running staff' to TTE

DEC 25 (WTN) - India has been liberated for 70 years, but even today there are many laws and regulations that have been made against the Indians in British times. From time to time, there has been a growing demand that the laws and regulations that have been going on since the time of the British, which were created by the British for the benefit of the British Empire must be ended, but demand remains a demand.

When the country was dependent, the British had created such rules to protect their state which were necessary for the survival of the British rule, but there are still many rules after the years of independence which were created by the British against the Indians, but due to the ‘insensitivity’ of the governments of the country, those rules are still in force.

A similar rule was implemented with the TTE staff running on the train. TTE, running in trains until 1931, was given the running staff status. But at that time their running staff status was seized due to the blaming of helping freedom fighters. TTE were accused of providing seat to the freedom fighters and helping to get their goods from one place to another.

Due to helping freedom fighters in the British rule, the status of running staff of TTE was taken away in the year 1931. But the same practice continued for 70 years of independence with TTE’s, who did duty in the running trains, but didn’t get 'running staff' status. But after 87 years of separating from the status of running staff and 70 years after the country's independence, there is hope for TTE to get running status of running staff.

About 100 MPs, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari write a letter to Railway Minister to be given the status of running staff for the TTE. After which the Ministry of Railways has constituted a committee which has to give its recommendation within three months. If the committee recommends running staff status to TTE and recommendation approved then TTE can get the running staff status again.

For your information, let you know that loco driver, assistant loco driver, guard, break man and others who help in running the train are called 'running staff' in railway's language. According to the information, the running staff gets more allowances, air-conditioned rest room and plenty of facilities.

Compared to the TTE, the salary of the driver and guard of running staff is 30 percent higher. Running staff only have to work for 10 hours and get a reliever when the train is late. Not only that, TTE's daily allowance is also much less compared to running staff, while TTE gets less pension compared to running staff.

Compared to India, Pakistan and Bangladesh had long ago removed this imperialist rule made by the British. Pakistan, separated from India, had given TTE the running staff status in the year 1962, while in 2004, Bangladesh provided TTE the status of running staff.

India has been liberated for 70 years, but there are still many laws and regulations in the country which were built for the benefit of the British Empire. These laws and regulations should have been changed a long time ago, but it could not be done. Well late but right now, TTE will get the status of ‘running staff’, which they deserve. At the same time, the TTE staff should be proud that many TTE working before Independence collaborated with freedom fighters, due to which we are now able to breathe in free India.
