Rahul Gandhi's 'expectations' from Kamal Nath in the Lok Sabha elections

JAN 15 (WTN) - After the formation of the Congress government in the Madhya Pradesh, there was a continuation of discussions that now who will be the state Congress president? Many names were in discussions in which the name of former minister and former leader of the opposition leader Ajay Singh was in the headlines. It was being said that Ajay Singh, who lost the assembly elections from Churhat seat, could be appointed the Madhya Pradesh Congress President.

But the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and Congress state president Kamal Nath has already put a stop to speculation on the change in the state. Kamal Nath has said clearly that there is no thought on changing about the Congress president in the state. In a discussion with the media, Kamal Nath said, "There is very little time left for the Lok Sabha elections, so there will be no change in the organization at present. If necessary, some new arrangements can be set that means the work and responsibilities can be divided so that everything could be done satisfactorily."

That is, it is clear that no possibility of change of state Congress president in Madhya Pradesh till the Lok Sabha elections at present. Political analysts believe that Rahul Gandhi would not want that two power poles working within the party in Madhya Pradesh till the Lok Sabha elections because if this happens, then the Congress may have to bear the loss.

Kamal Nath is currently the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh as well as the president of Congress as well, in which the command of both the power and the organization is in his hands. As you know that the Congress has not been able to get a full majority in Madhya Pradesh and only 114 legislators of the Congress could win. The Congress is running government in the state with the help of Independent MLAs as well as support of BSP-SP.

At this time, each legislator matters to the Congress; in such a scenario the top Congress leaders of centre would not want that there should be two power poles in the state as one in government and one in organization, because if this happens, Congress may have to face the problem. Congress will want Kamal Nath to take charge of the organization and power till the Lok Sabha elections so that the party can get a strong leadership in the Lok Sabha elections.

Kamal Nath is a senior leader and there is no any Congress leader, in the state, is not as experienced as Kamal Nath. As you know that Kamal Nath is very close to Gandhi family, it is being said that Rahul Gandhi has taken the decision of handing over the command of both the government and organization to Kamal Nath till the Lok Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh, so that in the state, Congress could win less than 15 seats out of 29 seats in Lok Sabha election.

If we talk of the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress could win only 2 out of 29 seats in the state in the 2014. In such a situation, Rahul Gandhi has taken decision after a lot of thinking to give free hand to Kamal Nath in Madhya Pradesh till the Lok Sabha elections, so that Congress can perform well in the Lok Sabha elections. Now it is necessary to see how Kamal Nath can lead the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections by becoming the head of both the government and the organization.
