Mobile phone users increase rapidly in the country
Landline and mobile numbers may be of 11 digits soon
SEP 23 (WTN) - If we tell you that soon your mobile number and landline number is going to be of 10 digits instead of 10 digits; then by reading this you must have been shocked as to why and when it is going to happen. After all, what is the whole matter? Let us explain this in detail. In fact, the TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has invited suggestions from the people about the mobile phone number and landline number of 11 digits in the country from the current 10 digits.
TRAI says that with the ever-increasing population, the demand for telecom connections is also increasing in this manner. In view of the need to deal with the increasing demand for telecom connections, it is suggested that mobile and landline numbers should be opted for 11 digits instead of 10 digits. For your information, let us know that TRAI has issued a discussion paper about this. The title of this discussion paper is 'Development of Integrated Marks Scheme'. According to TRAI, this scheme is for both mobile and landline lines.
For your information, let us know that at present there are around 1.2 billion phone connections in the country. TRAI's letter of discussion states, "If we assume that by 2050 in India, the number of wireless phones i.e. mobile phones increases so much that every person has an average of two mobile connections, then in this situation in the country, the number of active mobile phones alone will reach 3.28 billion."
Clearly, given the ever-increasing population and ever-increasing mobile phone connections, the TRAI estimates that by the year 2050, around 4.68 billion numbers will be needed for mobile phone connections in the country, even if 70 per cent of the numbers are used. At the same time, in view of the increasing population and increasing Internet connection in the same number, the government has already started a 13-digit number series for mutual Internet connectivity / Internet of the things between machines.
According to the TRAI, 10 digit mobile numbers starting from 9, 8 and 7 digits can only deliver 2.1 billion mobile connections. In such a situation, 11 digit mobile numbers will be needed for the future. Therefore, such a plan is to change the mobile numbers of 10 digits to 11 digits, so that future problems can be avoided.
For your information, let us know that this is not the first time in the country that landline and mobile numbers used for telecommunications are being reviewed. Prior to this, the planning of landline numbers in 1993 and planning of landline and mobile numbers in the year 2003 have been reviewed. After the entry of mobile phones in the country, in the 2003 numbering plan, 750 million phone connections were planned. Of these 750 million phone connections, 450 million mobile connections and 300 million landline phone connections were planned.
If everything continues to be according to the planning, then in the coming days, the mobile number of 10 digits will be of 11 digits. In addition to the mobile number, the landline number (STD code + landline number) will also be updated to 11 digits instead of 10 digits.
