Heavy drop in demand for Made in China goods in Indian markets

Customers and traders teach China a 'solid lesson'!

OCT 29 (WTN) - Diplomatic relations between India and China have always been tense but in spite of this the economic relations between the two countries have been very strong. Trade between the two countries was $ 62.9 billion in FY 2017-18, which has now reached around $ 90 billion.

As you know, China is said to be the world's largest manufacturer of cheap goods. In such a situation, China has been consuming its cheap goods in all the countries of the world including India. And for this reason, today China is the second-largest economy in the world with a GDP of $ 11 trillion.

As far as trade between India and China is concerned, for your information, let us know that China has always been in a position of profit in the trade between the two countries. There was a time when the whole market had been awash with Chinese goods during Diwali. But in the last 5 to 6 years, it has been seen that the demand for Chinese goods in the Diwali markets has declined sharply. According to the information, there has been a huge reduction of 70 to 80 per cent in the import of Made in China goods.

Indeed, there is not one, but a number of reasons behind the drastic reduction in the demand for Made in China goods. First of all, the poor quality of Chinese goods is one of the biggest reasons for the decline in demand. In recent years, goods made in India have given stiff competition to Made in China goods. Due to all these reasons, the total share of Chinese goods in the Diwali markets is now only around 20 to 25 per cent.

In many cities of the country including Delhi this time on Diwali, most of the customers and traders have given preference to the idols made in India. At the same time, the demand for Chinese firecrackers, Made in China electronic items and Chinese goods for decoration has also reduced sharply. In fact, due to competition, Indian products are gradually getting better than China, due to which customers and traders are giving more preference to Indian goods than Chinese goods due to the durability of Indian goods.

As you know that Made in China is more of a joke than a reliable brand! This is why because goods made in China do not have any guarantees and are not durable. In such a situation, the demand for Chinese goods is gradually decreasing in India. At the same time, after the Modi Government increased duty, a lot of Made in China goods are costlier than Indian goods.

Also, the Modi Government has tightened standards regarding the quality of other items, including electronic items, and for this reason Made in China, products are unable to meet these standards. Due to this, quality, strong and cheap Indian goods are getting more demand than Chinese goods.

Opposition to Chinese goods is also one of the reasons behind the huge drop in demand for Chinese goods. The way China supports Pakistan on other issues including Kashmir and has been conspiring against India, the opposition of China and Chinese goods are increasing in the country. In such a situation, people have started to boycott Chinese goods at their level, due to which the demand for Chinese goods has come down. It can be said that there has been a sharp decline in the sale of Chinese goods due to people preferring indigenous goods rather than buying Chinese goods.

The reasons are not one but many, due to which the demand for Made in China goods is gradually decreasing in India. However, the demand and selling of mobile Chinese companies are still the highest in the mobile market in India. But the demand for cheap and medium-range Made in China goods is fast decreasing in India, there are solid reasons behind it; Due to Chinese opposition, customers, and traders preferred Indian products, poor quality of Chinese goods, tightening of quality standards by the Modi Government and making them expensive due to tariffs on Chinese goods, whatever the reason but Indian customers and businessmen have given a shock to China.
