Crude oil supply to India to continue uninterrupted from Saudi Arabia
Prime Minister Modi's diplomacy once again proved successful
OCT 31 (WTN) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi is known for his successful diplomacy. The way he has single-handedly isolated Pakistan on almost every platform in the world on the Kashmir issue proved that Prime Minister Modi is a very big diplomat. After the abrogation of Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, it was said that Muslim countries and especially Gulf countries might get angry with India and the supply of crude oil to India might be affected. But Prime Minister Modi also abrogated Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir and Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE supported India's move saying that the decision of the Government of India on Kashmir proved an internal matter of India.
Prime Minister Modi knows that the continuous uninterrupted supply of crude oil is very important for the fast-growing Indian economy. During the Gulf War in the early 90s, India faced a lot of problems in the supply of crude oil and cooking gas, after which the Indian Government has set up oil reserves for emergencies. But as you know, recently, two oil plants of the world's largest oil company Saudi Arabia's state-owned oil company Aramco were attacked by drones.
After the attack on Aramco's plants, the price of crude oil had increased significantly, due to which the prices of petrol and diesel in India had increased. But for India, which is already facing economic recession, the increase in crude oil prices was a cause for concern. Amidst all this, the Modi government resorted to its diplomacy and started efforts for uninterrupted oil supply from Saudi Arabia.
Troubled by the rise in crude oil prices following the attack on Aramco's oil plants, the Indian Government resorted to talks to control the situation. Therefore, Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had spoken to Saudi Arabia's Energy Minister Abdul Aziz bin Salman and requested him not to allow India to affect the supply of crude oil.
Amidst all this, according to information from the media, Saudi Arabia has assured India that Saudi Arabia will remain a reliable source of crude oil for India. Not only this, Saudi Arabia says that Saudi Arabia will provide all the oil India needs.
For your information, let us know that India buys 18 per cent of its oil requirement from Saudi Arabia. As far as importing oil from Saudi Arabia is concerned, last year India imported 39.8 million metric tons of crude oil from Saudi Arabia. At the same time, in the case of LPG, India is largely dependent on Saudi Arabia. India imports 30 per cent of its LPG requirement from Saudi Arabia.
As we told you earlier, after the attack on two of Aramco's oil plants in Saudi Arabia, crude oil supplies were affected all over the world, but Saudi Arabia continued to supply oil to India nonetheless. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who recently visited Saudi Arabia, personally thanked King Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia for the continuous oil supply despite the problem.
At the same time, Prime Minister Modi has got another diplomatic success. For your information, let us know that Saudi Arabia has signed an equal partnership with India. It may be noted that Saudi Arabia has already signed a similar partnership with Britain, France and China and India is the fourth country to sign the deal with Saudi Arabia. The signing of an equal partnership will open up opportunities for India to reap considerable economic benefits from Saudi Arabia and increase Saudi Arabian investment opportunities in India, which will provide employment to the Indian people.
At the same time, India has also started jerking Turkey to increase diplomatic relations with Saudi Arabia. Indeed, the diplomatic battle between Saudi Arabia and Turkey continues to establish domination among Muslim countries. At the same time, because of Turkey's support of Pakistan on Kashmir issue in the United Nations General Assembly, the Modi Government has decided to teach Turkey a lesson, under this India has started giving more preference to Saudi Arabia. It is clear that due to diplomacy the Modi Government has ensured the supply of oil to India uninterrupted for a long time.
