Pakistan leers at PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan

DEC 19 (WTN) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a big player not only in India's politics but also in international diplomacy. The way, in which BJP-led NDA has won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections under the leadership of Narendra Modi, it is clear that Modi is currently the biggest leader of Indian politics. On the other hand, by abrogating Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir with surgical strikes, air strike, and exposing Pakistan to the world in this matter, Modi has proved that Pakistan is nothing ahead of him in terms of diplomacy. In the Kashmir issue, Prime Minister Modi, along with his team, has left Pakistan alone on almost every platform in the world, which shows that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is still dwarfed ahead of Modi's diplomacy.

Pakistan, which has been defeated by Prime Minister Modi's diplomatic moves internationally, is now preparing for a new move. Distressed and stunned by the Modi government's abrogation of Article 370 from the state of Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan wants to integrate PoK i.e. Pakistan-occupied Kashmir into Pakistan. This trick of Imran Khan has been claimed by Naseer Aziz Khan of the United Kashmir People's National Party.

Actually, Naseer Aziz Khan claims that the first step in this regard taken by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to make PoK a part of Pakistan is that he changed the name of 'Azad Jammu and Kashmir Management Group' to 'Jammu And Kashmir Administrative Service’.  According to Khan, its notification has been released on the 11th of this month. At the same time, a few days before this decision of Imran Khan, PoK Prime Minister Farooq Haider Khan expressed his apprehension that he could be the last Prime Minister of PoK.

Claiming about Imran Khan's conspiracy to merge PoK in Pakistan, Naseer Aziz Khan says that Prime Minister Imran Khan has instructed the concerned departments to prepare the necessary legal basis for changing the status of PoK. In this regard, Naseer Aziz says that Imran Khan is preparing for the merger of PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan and for this quietly preparing for the constitutional amendment is continuing. Not only this, but it is also possible that a proposal to merge the entire Gilgit-Baltistan region into Pakistan can be brought.

According to Naseer Aziz Khan, PoK may be illegally merged into Pakistan's Punjab province. But the people of PoK are objecting to this possible move of Imran Khan. At the same time, the government of Pakistan together with the Army there in PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan, is seen taking repressive steps in these three places. But this possible step of Imran Khan has started opposing. There are apprehensions that the Pakistan Army and the Pakistan Government, notorious for human rights abuses, may violate human rights to suppress the voices of protest from PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan.

In this context, more than 100 people seeking autonomy in PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan have been detained on charges of treason. That is it is clear that Pakistan is engaged in suppressing the voice of disagreement there. It is being said that after the Modi government’s abolishing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir on the part of India, dazed Imran Khan is taking this step. In fact, many times the Modi Government has also warned to repossess PoK form Pakistan. It is believed that Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan may declare PoK as Pakistan's fifth province.

Well, now we have to see how much truth is there in the claims of Naseer Aziz Khan and PoK Prime Minister Farooq Haider Khan. If there is truth in both these claims, then this step of Imran Khan will be strongly opposed by India. It may be that the circumstances of war between India and Pakistan can be created on this issue. But whatever it is, if Imran Khan makes any change in the administrative position of PoK-Gilgit-Baltistan, it will be fiercely opposed by the Modi Government and due to this, the tension between the two countries may increase once again.
