The battle for regional supremacy continues between Saudi Arabia and Iran

Saudi Arabia may also play an important role in the Iran-US war

JAN 09 (WTN) - As you know, the tension between the US and Iran is at the moment. The kind of activities that are going on between the US and Iran at the moment, it is feared that war could erupt between these two countries at any time. As you know, all the Gulf countries except Israel are Muslim. On the other hand, if you think that the Gulf Muslim countries will support Iran in the ongoing tension with the US and in the possible war, then your thinking is quite wrong.

In fact, Saudi Arabia, having the two holy pilgrimage sites of Islam, remains the arch-enemy of Iran these days. For your information, let us know that there has been a long-standing conflict between the two Islamic countries, Iran and Saudi Arabia. The battle for supremacy continues between these two countries over regional dominance. By the way, both are Islamic countries, but religion is the main reason behind the conflict between them and the fight for supremacy.

Explain that the main reason for the conflict between the two countries is the Shia-Sunni sect of Islam. In fact, Iran is a Shia recognized country while Saudi Arabia is a Sunni dominated country. For this reason, the two countries have been fighting for years. But in recent years, due to the battle for regional supremacy between these two countries, the situation in the Gulf region has become quite serious. Iran and Saudi Arabia are neighboring countries to say, but both these countries have been fighting for regional dominance for a long time.

The conflict between these two countries has been going on for many years due to the different sects of Islam being considered Shia and Sunni. Iran is a Shia Muslim-majority country, while Saudi Arabia has more Sunni Muslims. Other Muslim countries have also jumped into this battle of continued domination between Iran and Saudi Arabia. Due to the Shia-Sunni conflict between these two countries, some Muslim countries support Iran, while some Muslim countries support Saudi Arabia.

Actually, Islam is born in Saudi Arabia itself, and hence Saudi Arabia sees itself as the leader of the Muslim world. But after the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979, the equations changed, and Iran started challenging Saudi Arabia. Let you know that after the Islamic revolution in Iran, it became a new type of state, which is a kind of governance system with a kind of revolutionary theocracy. Religious leaders of Iran want to spread this model all over the world, but since Saudi Arabia considers itself the leader of the Muslim world, this leadership of Iran is not liked by Saudi Arabia.

From 2003 onwards, Iran's influence started increasing in the Gulf countries. In fact, in the year 2003, the US ousted Saddam Hussein from Iraq, who was anti-Iran. Iran's entire power was wasted on Iraq and Saddam Hussein, but after Saddam Hussein withdrew from power, Iran used its power to increase its influence in the Gulf region. In 2011, when there were agitations in many parts of the Arab world, it created instability in the entire region. Iran and Saudi Arabia took advantage of this instability, and both these countries tried to increase its influence in countries like Bahrain, Syria, and Yemen.

Along with religious, political competition between the two countries now continues. Indeed, on the basis of its diplomacy, Iran has been able to gradually establish its dominance in the Gulf and surrounding areas. In fact, Iran wants to see the dominance of the whole region, either by itself or by its people, so that it can establish its own control over this territory stretching from Iran to the Mediterranean Sea.

For your information, let us know that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has the support of Iran and Russia, and for this reason, Bashar's army has been able to defeat the rebel group backed by Saudi Arabia. But now Saudi Arabia is trying to stop Iran's influence. Due to this diplomacy, Crown Prince Mohammed bin-Salman of Saudi Arabia started a war in Yemen, which could reduce the influence of Iran here, but later Saudi Arabia realized that it was its big mistake to interfere in Yemen.

Now, there is the apprehension of war between Iran and America. In such a situation, the role of Saudi Arabia is going to be very important. For your information, let us know that a few days ago a rocket attack was made on a plant of Aramco of Saudi Arabia, the world's largest oil company, and Iran was accused of the conspiracy of this attack. At the same time, Saudi Arabia has always been a friend of the US, and Saudi Arabia has US airbases and military bases. In such a situation, now it has to be seen that if there was a war between Iran and America, then would there be a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia?
