Electric highway: Modi government's step towards a big change

JAN 31 (WTN) - You must have seen the engines of electric trains, and the passenger trains and goods trains running with that engine. But if we tell you that in the near future, trucks, and buses will also run by an electric cable so you must have been shocked after reading this. It’s natural that you have been shocked, but for your information, let you know that soon a highway is going to be built in the country in which vehicles powered by petrol, diesel or CNG will be seen running along with electric vehicles. What is the whole matter? Let us tell you about it in detail.

In fact, the Modi government has prepared a plan to build an electric highway on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. For your information, let us know that the Central Government is working on a plan to convert the common highway into an electric highway in India on the lines of countries like Germany, Sweden, and South Korea.

The government claims that the electric highway will reduce the logistics cost, and save the country's precious foreign money. In fact, for importing diesel and petrol, the Indian government has to spend a lot of foreign exchange. Explain that India imports about 80 percent of its crude oil. In such a situation, if trucks and buses will be run by electric cables, then it will save foreign exchange. For your information, let us know that India imports crude oil worth 7 lakh crore rupees every year.

By the way, you must be wondering how the electric highway will work, so for your information, let us know that trucks or buses will also run on the electric highway through the electric cable above the metro. Electric lines will be laid on both sides in the electric highway, on which trucks carrying weight up to 80 tons will be able to run at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour.

Naturally, when a large number of trucks and buses run on electricity, it will not cause pollution. But still, there is a plan to plant about 1 million trees on both sides of this proposed electric highway so that any kind of pollution can be dealt with. There is also a plan to do water harvesting on the proposed electric highway so that this water can be used for irrigation in the surrounding fields.

But the scheme of the electric highway is not as easy as it seems. The government will require heavy investment for the electric highway. However, the government has completed the land acquisition work for the electric highway, and the government hopes that the electric highway will be completed in the next two years. At the same time, rural and tribal areas have been chosen for the highway route to reduce the expenditure on the project.

The total cost to build this proposed electric highway, 1250 kilometers long and 120 meters wide would be Rs 1.03 lakh crore. According to the government, for this mega project, the Reserve Bank of India has assured the government that the government will be allowed infrastructure loans for 30 years. According to the information, 6 banks, including the country's largest bank State Bank of India is ready to give loan to the government for this mega project. At the same time, the government will collect toll tax from two years after the completion of this highway so that the cost of this project can be taken out.

Auto companies are also excited about the government's ambitious electric highway project, and auto companies are designing special trucks and buses for electric highways. The government claims that by the end of the year 2020, there will be around 10,000 EV buses in the country. The electric buses and trucks being made by the auto companies will run both by electricity and battery.

At the same time, this highway can be a boon for the development in the backward areas through which it will pass. There will be many business activities on both sides of this highway, which will benefit the people of rural and tribal areas. The government claims that the construction of this highway will provide employment to the local youth from where this highway will pass.

Statistics show that a truck completes a maximum of 6 to 10 km of travel in a liter of diesel, but an electric truck will travel 20 km in a cost of 12 to 15 rupees. Not only this but during this time the battery of the truck will also be charged, after which the truck will run with the battery. At the same time, the truck will run again by electric cable when the battery runs out. At the same time, the electric truck will carry far more cargo than a normal truck, and this will reduce the freight cost between Delhi and Mumbai by almost five times. On the other hand, only the trucks but also the buses will run on the electric highway, then the passenger fare will also be reduced compared to the first.

It is being claimed that the distance between Delhi and Mumbai from this highway will be completed in just 12 hours. Let us tell you that not only electric buses and trucks will run on this highway, but there will also be cars running on petrol, diesel, batteries, and CNG. This ambitious plan of the Modi government is going to provide a lot of support to the country's economy. The biggest benefit of the electric highway will be that the country will have to import less crude oil from abroad than before, which will save foreign exchange.

The construction of this highway will reduce freight and passenger fares. At the same time, when the trucks will run on electricity, the increasing prices of petrol and diesel will not affect the freight, and the goods for everyday use will not be expensive. On the other hand, with the start of commercial activities along the highway including the auto industry, lakhs of people will get employment. Also, pollution will be controlled to a large extent by driving vehicles with electricity. So it can be said that the Modi government's electric highway scheme will prove to be a game-changer for the Indian economy.
