Terrorists get financial assistance in Pakistan

If FATF blacklisted Pakistan, then Pakistan would become the pauper!

FEB 22 (WTN) - The whole world has now become aware of the nefarious antics of Pakistan, the stronghold of terror and terrorists. The Pakistan government has always used its military and resources to spread terror in countries like India and Afghanistan. Pakistan is, in a way, a stronghold of terrorists because terrorist organizations continue to receive open financial assistance in the name of Jihad in Pakistan. In all the major terrorist attacks in the world, the terrorists or terrorists who attacked have been related to Pakistan somewhere. The whole world is now aware of the protection, financial assistance, and support being given to terrorist organizations in Pakistan, and these same nefarious antics of Pakistan are slowly getting screwed.

The FATF (Financial Action Task Force) has put Pakistan on the gray list to show its toughness to crack down on the support being received by terrorist organizations in Pakistan. However, it was expected that the FATF would put Pakistan on the blacklist. However, Pakistan has somehow saved itself from going on the blacklist. Let you know that Pakistan got the support of countries like Turkey and Malaysia due to which Pakistan was saved from going on the blacklist. Well, for your information, let us know that Pakistan came in the gray list of FATF for the first time in the year 2012, and Pakistan remained in the gray list of FATF till 2015. Once again, Pakistan has been included in the gray list of FATF in the year 2018.

By the way, if you do not know about FATF, then for your information, let us know that FATF is an international organization that sets a guideline for countries around the world for financial matters like money laundering or terror funding. The FATF has this right and makes such rules so that it can take action against countries that promote financial crimes. Let us know you that FATF is actually an inter-governmental body, which was established in 1989 by the G7 group of countries in the French capital Paris.

Explain that the FATF works to identify national-level weaknesses to protect the international financial system from misuse. In this context, in October 2001, FATF included efforts to deal with the Terror Funding in addition to money laundering, whereas, in April 2012, its agenda added efforts to counter the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. Let us know that the FATF monitors and reviews the progress of countries in implementing the recommendations made by them. The FATF currently has a total of 39 members, including 37 member countries and 2 regional organizations.

Actually, the blacklist of the FATF is very important in itself. When terrorist organizations continue to receive financial assistance in a country, and even after instructions of the FATF to take action on terrorist organizations and such countries continue to have an uncooperative attitude. And at the same time, these countries are kept on the blacklist by the FATF due to non-continuous control of money laundering and terror funding. Blacklisting countries with this type of situation began in the year 2000. Countries with Terror Funding are first warned, and then a committee of some countries monitors to see what and how such countries are taking steps to control serious cases according to the guidelines.

As you know, FATF has put Pakistan in the gray list, expressing unhappiness with Pakistan's work in the case of Terror Funding. But if Pakistan does not curb Terror Funding by June 2020 and does not properly comply with the 27 point action plan suggested by the FATF, so Pakistan may be put on the FATF blacklist in June 2020.

Now, you must be thinking that if the FATF put Pakistan in the blacklist, what will be the effect on Pakistan? So, for your information, let us know that if the FATF put Pakistan in the blacklist, then Pakistan already facing the economic crisis could face a huge blow. Foreign investment in Pakistan will be impacted after being blacklisted by the FATF. At the same time, it will be difficult for Pakistan to get financial assistance from financial institutions like the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. That is, if the FATF put Pakistan in the blacklist, then Pakistan will be boycotted internationally in a way.

The Modi government's diplomacy behind strictness that FATF is taking hard action on Pakistan cannot be ignored. The result of efforts of the Modi government itself is that Pakistan, which has not taken strict action against the terrorism, has not been received the support by countries like China and Saudi Arabia this time. China, US, European countries and Saudi Arabia openly supported India in the FATF meeting. All these countries have told Pakistan that it will have to take a strict action in the case of Terror Funding and Money Laundering. At the same time, Pakistan will have to bring all the leaders of the terrorist organization under the punishment and prosecution.
